Writing is communicating the best and worst that life is to many of us.

You write successfully when you take the life of all of us and transform it by writer imagination and writing craft tools into a cultural artifact called a book. Or better yet, into a novel or a screen play for a successful movie that makes millions because people love your story.

Writing is these points:

Communicating heart to heart with others, following universal themes and issues.

Creating stories about characters bigger than people, bigger than life itself.

Creating stories that have actions and success rates that are far more intense and inspiring than the success rates we usually achieve in our regular lives.

Writing is reliving existence for its greater significance.

Writing is problem-solving with life’s issues.

Writing is information learning through dramatization in action, place, theme and character.

Writing is love of language and love of life itself rendered into stories that live in the imaginations of readers and viewers.

Writing Task

Take a problem you have in your life right now and turn it into a story. Imagine your problem as happening to two characters only. Imagine at least two possible solutions. Have one character go for one

solution and the other character go for the other solution. Now you have conflict. Resolve it by creating with your imagination a third solution. This is your story. You have used creative writing to create a story!
