This site is presented by Strephon Kaplan-Williams as an author and teacher who has sold over 350,000 books. Only 500 authors a year in America sell more than 100,000 of any one book of theirs. Strephon, as both a published author and a teacher, is confident he can help writers write better, and so have a better chance at having their books published and sell well. We emphasize here learning the writing craft, especially for the novel, with much to help screen writers as well.

We focus only on craft, our area of expertise. We have nothing expert to say about agents, publishers or marketing. Nor do we sell hype.

There are three kinds of success for a writer.

1. Write well enough to make at least half your income writing.

3. Learn writing craft well enough to know it is not your destiny to be a writer.
